MY YOGA JOURNEY -  I was inspired by yoga years ago as a form of exercise. It was also a fun way to find fitness on a sandy beach during a vacation with friends and family with the sun beaming down on us, sand invading our mats, and quiet laughter surrounding us as we attempted some deep stretches and sandy headstands. It was when we started offering "Yoga Grief Relief" as an aftercare service at our family business, MacAlpine Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, that I realized how valuable a daily yoga practice is to each and every one of us.  Two years, ago I began to dive deeper into my own personal yoga journey when I attended my first Yogafit certification. When it was time for me to do my volunteer work for my certification, my church allowed me to use one of the large Sunday School rooms. Since then, this has blossomed into morning and evening classes most days of the week.  A yoga studio created within the walls of beautiful church through the support of church family and friends.  BA (Bad Axe) Pure Yoga, LLC is able to offer yoga to everyone in the community through its use.

WHY YOGA - For me, yoga is key to overall health and wellness. I realized how wonderful I felt after taking a yoga class and how happy I was when I was teaching it to others. There is something to be said about doing what you love! I am always very humbled after each class I teach. 

FAVORITE POSE I can honestly say I don't have just one! My favorite pose often depends on the day and how I'm feeling. This is the beauty of yoga!

MY YOGA JOURNEY -  I was introduced to yoga in my early 20s by Penny Doyen. We spread our mats throughout Buds and Blossoms flower shop in Cass City for evening classes. There, amidst the vases and bouquets, I fell in love with yoga. Years later, Diana Tanton encouraged me to become an instructor and begin Yogafit certification. I feel blessed to have spent 3 years teaching for Get Results and learning from Diana's vast experience and knowledge.  In 2013, Lisa asked me to lead a grief support yoga class.  Now, Lisa has invited me to work with her at Pure Yoga where I can channel my energy into two of my biggest passions, yoga and writing.

WHY YOGA -  Yoga not only strengthens my body, but it also strengthens my mind. I have learned from yoga how to stay calm under pressure (warriors), how to be proactive instead of reactive (balance), and how to feel gratitude (heart openers). Because of yoga, I am able to breathe deeply which has enabled me to run long distance, and I am more in tune with my body which has helped me stay injury free.

Pure Yoga joined forces with Pilates Revolution in the summer of 2015 and currently opperates as a "sister studio," sharing instructors and studio space to offer Yoga, Pilates, and TotalBarre to the greater Huron County area.
